MCP
The ProcessOut Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enables AI-powered code editors like Cursor and Windsurf, plus general-purpose tools like Claude Desktop, to interact directly with your ProcessOut API and documentation.
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI applications to securely access external data sources and tools. The ProcessOut MCP server provides AI agents with:
- Direct API access to ProcessOut functionality
- Documentation search capabilities
- Real-time data from your ProcessOut account
- Code generation assistance for ProcessOut integrations
ProcessOut MCP Server Setup
We advise using this hosted solution in your developers IDE to help connect your payment technical systems to ProcessOut APIs
ProcessOut hosts a remote MCP server at https://docs.processout.com/mcp. Configure your AI development tools to connect to this server. If your APIs require authentication, you can pass in headers via query parameters or however headers are configured in your MCP client.

}Host your own MCP server
We advise hosting your own MCP server if your goal is to leverage ProcessOut with your own LLM system
If you would like to host your own server, providing secure access to ProcessOut API, we have developed a server available here:
GitHub - ProcessOut MCP Server
Testing Your MCP Setup
Once configured, you can test your MCP server connection:
- Open your AI editor (Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)
- Start a new chat with the AI assistant
- Ask about ProcessOut - try questions like:
- "How do I [common use case]?"
- "Show me an example of [API functionality]"
- "Create a [integration type] using ProcessOut"
The AI should now have access to your ProcessOut account data and documentation through the MCP server.
